Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga | Trade Federation Battleship Interior

On LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga we in the models team took on our most ambitious project yet and that was to fully create interiors of the spaceships out of LEGO.
These had to be designed to be built correctly within LEGO's own standards as well as being optimal for modern game platforms.
I was responsible for creating the final meshes after the LEGO designs were done, I also created all of our shaders, materials and workflows from scratch for these environments as well as creating the sticker artwork featured in the levels.
Everything was modelled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter and the sticker artwork was created in Illustrator.

This was the first project I worked on where we really focused on the realistic look of LEGO from the different roughness properties of different size tiles to moulding marks and moulded trademark logos.

Any 2D artwork that was created was within the LEGO guidelines for their stickers. This was done to try and retain the giant 'toy like' look we wanted and be as faithful as we could to the LEGO product.

One of the small easter eggs I included was to honour our previous games such as the original LEGO Star Wars which also started with a level on the Trade Federation Battleship.
